Precious little fingers and toes

I am more than happy with my three precious children, yet I have to say, I still love seeing the precious little fingers and toes of a newborn baby! Every Sunday when I go to our church nursery with our youngest, I wish I could just be shooting away, capturing the beauty of each child in their Sunday best. They're truly "picture perfect!" And, I know I'm looking at God's hand at work...the blessed innocence of a child is amazing.

It was so much fun a couple of weeks ago when I took these newborn pictures, and it was just as much fun putting this storyboard together. My phenomenal husband Nate and I are on our way to Kansas for a friend's wedding. She worked for me last year and is the most amazing, well-grounded, hard-working young lady I've ever known. Although she moved back to Kansas to be near family, she's still very special to me, and I'm excited to share in her excitement as she enters this lifelong journey with her soulmate. As a mother, I can only hope that my children will grow up to be as good of people as she. Kudos to her parents, and best wishes to the happy couple! Hmmm...I wonder what pictures I'll add next time. :)

Dayton Lane Photography is participating in the National Charity Model Search to select “America’s Cutest Kid” and to raise funds for charity.

We’re looking for cute children ages 18 months to 14 years old to model for a portrait to be entered into the contest.

Models Search Special:
$45 entrance fee, which includes a 50-minute model session and one image submitted to the national gallery.

Finalists will be determined by online votes. Anyone may vote. Each vote is $1, and all proceeds from votes benefit the non-profit organization Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. (

Grand prize national winner will be determined from the 50 city finalists. Winners selected by photography and modeling industry experts.

Great friends, food, & photos!

This past Sunday I was able to have the best of both worlds...I got to spend time with my college roommate and her family, make some pictures, and eat unbelievably delicious mexican food at Joe T's. Here's a couple of photos from Sunday. Sorry, I didn't take any of the food. You'll just have to take my word for it that it looked as good as it tasted!

Honing Photoshop Skills

Greetings! I'm taking advantage of a great opportunity to hone my Photoshop skills. While I've been a novice for some time, it's great to be able to actually learn proper use of the various tools. Now I'll be able to do quicker enhancement to portraits, allowing me to do more for clients. Your images will look better than ever, and I'll get to put my new skills to use! Check back soon...I'll be adding some holiday pictures from Williams Square. They have a lot of great decorations that were fun to shoot.
